Privacy Policy & Website Terms
Plain-language version: I collect the minimum needed to reply to your enquiry, I don't run ads or trackers on this site, and I don't sell or share your details with anyone outside the two services listed below that actually send the message.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data ric-lee.co.uk collects, why, and what rights you have over it, in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Who's responsible for your data
Ric Lee, trading as Ric-Lee Digital, operating ric-lee.co.uk. Based in London, UK. This site is a personal, hand-built portfolio and enquiry point — not a company with a data protection officer, so any request goes to me directly, personally, via the contact form.
What I collect, and why
The only personal data this site collects is what you choose to submit through the contact form:
| Field | Why it's collected |
|---|---|
| Name | So I know who I'm replying to |
| Email or phone | So I can reply to your enquiry |
| Reference code (service) | So your enquiry reaches the right context |
| Message details | The actual enquiry — what you're looking to build |
Legal basis: legitimate interest — responding to a business enquiry you've initiated. Nothing is collected passively, and there's no account system, checkout, or newsletter on this site.
Cookies & local storage
This site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, and runs no analytics. The only thing stored in your browser is a single local-storage value remembering whether you last chose light or dark mode — it never leaves your device and isn't accessible to me.
Who else sees it
Submitting the contact form sends your details to two third-party processors that keep the site running without a custom backend:
- Formspree (Formspree, Inc., US) — receives and forwards contact-form submissions by email. Their own privacy policy applies to data in transit through their service.
- Google Fonts — this site's typefaces load from Google's font CDN, which means your browser makes a direct request to Google's servers (and shares your IP address, as with any external resource) when the page loads.
Hosting and DNS run on GitHub Pages and Cloudflare respectively — both process standard server-log data (IP address, browser type, request timestamps) as part of normal web infrastructure, not anything I query or use myself.
How long it's kept
Enquiry details are kept only as long as needed to respond and, where a project goes ahead, for the duration of that working relationship plus a reasonable period for UK tax and accounting record-keeping. Anything else is deleted on request.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, or object to how it's used. To do any of these, get in touch via the contact form with what you'd like — I answer these personally. If you're not satisfied with the response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator.
Website Terms of Use
Using this site
This website is provided for the purpose of showcasing Ric Lee's work and enabling enquiries about new projects. You're welcome to browse, link to, and share pages from it. You may not copy, scrape, or reproduce its design, written content, or code for your own commercial use without permission.
Portfolio figures
Every project's build spec on this site — hours, pricing, and the resulting valuation figures — is calculated openly at a single stated blended rate (currently £75–£95/hr) applied consistently across every listed project, with the hour ranges sourced from the actual scope delivered. These are estimates for illustrative and portfolio purposes, not invoices issued to any client, and are provided as transparently as possible so the methodology can be checked rather than taken on faith.
For context, averaging estimates from four general-purpose AI valuation tools — each applying a different market-rate assumption to the same documented hours — puts an equivalent replacement value at roughly £91K–£181K. That range reflects different rate assumptions, not a different audit, and is provided here for context rather than as the site's headline figure.
Third-party links
Project links on this site (client sites such as psytectrics.com, umni-systems.com, elegant-hires.com, rev-restore.co.uk, and lifereadyfirstaid.co.uk) lead to independent businesses with their own privacy practices and terms, which this policy doesn't cover.
No warranty
This site and its content are provided "as is." While every effort is made to keep information accurate and current, no guarantee is made that the site will be error-free, uninterrupted, or perfectly up to date at all times.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, Ric Lee is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of this website. Nothing in these terms limits liability for anything that can't legally be limited, such as fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
